Abu sayeed Khidri narrates that once we were sitting with
the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w.) when a
person came and asked the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w.) about the following verse of the Quran.
"O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself
to one whom I have created with my hands? Are you proud? Or are you one of the lofty
ones?" (38:75)
He asked the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w.) who are the lofty ones referred to in this
verse who are better than the angels.?
The Holy Prophet replied that those people are I, Ali
(a.s.), Fatema (s.a.), Hasan (a.s.) and Hussain (a.s.). We used to praise Allah
(s.w.t.) 2000 years prior to the creation of Adam (a.s.) surrounding the
throne. Listening to our praise The angels too learned to praise Allah
(s.w.t.).
When Allah (s.w.t.)
created Adam (a.s.) he commanded the angels to prostate before him. He did not
order us to prostate before Adam. All the angels obliged except Iblis, who
denied immediately. Then Allah (s.w.t) told him “You were proud, or were you
really from one of the lofty ones?.
Allah (s.w.t.) has refered to these five personalities as lofty
ones whose names were written on the surrounding of the foundation of the throne. Then we are the
door towards Allah (s.w.t.) through which guidance is sought and the one who is
guided through us is truly guided. Allah (s.w.t.) loves the one who loves us
and will give him a place in paradise and hates the one who harbors enmity
towards us and will throw him in hell. And non can love us except the one who is pure in birth.
